Camden West is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Las Vegas speaking about the way he creates and gets inspired to write his music. Growing up with a Dad who was always “blasting all kinds of music around the house,” Camden started studying piano at age 6, then the drums and then the guitar.

By 7th grade, he and his friends Tom and brothers Jonathan and Roy formed the band Gunshow. While starting as a cover band, they soon “graduated” to original music. Throughout middle and high schools, Gunshow was the go-to band for school functions, community events and benefits.

Camden was a classical guitar major at his magnet high school, which exposed him to a wider world of music. He created the band Generation Y with Jonathan and classmates Spencer, Aaron and Connor. As a band, they won First Place at the Las Vegas 2011 House of Blues “Bringin’ Down the House” Battle of the Bands.

Soon thereafter a funk/soul/R&B band called Audiosoul brought Camden in as their guitarist. Audiosoul performed live on the television broadcast “For The Love Of A Child,” sponsored by the 100 Black Men of Las Vegas.

By the time he was 17, Camden West decided to embark on a solo career, so that he could write and perform any style of music, including his own style. His first recorded solo track was “Next To You”, which he recorded early on during his high school career. While he enjoys playing all sorts of commercial venues, Camden puts his voice where his heart belongs. He has sung and played for various charities, most frequently for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Leukemia and Lymphoma and the Humane Societies. Camden also wrote and a performed his original song “Shine”, for the annual St. Jude’s Foundation Gala in Las Vegas.

Camden credits a variety of artists including The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, The Beatles and Keith Urban as inspiring him and challenging him to challenge himself. Camden strives to make a difference in people’s lives with his music. His writing reflects his experiences, world events and whatever comes to heart.

His first album, Outside the Lines, was released on July 22, 2013. For more information, visit, — also follow Camden on Twitter for news and updates: @camden_west.
